West Yellowstone

The past 9 days we have been on vacation, spending 6 days near West Yellowstone at a cabin by Henry's Lake and then 3 days at our family cabin in Ashley National Forest near Tabiona, UT. We had a great time! I took about 200 pictures. Here is our vacation in a nutshell.

Grandpa Thompson was able to come for a visit at the family cabin. We don't see him very often so it was a great for the kids to spend some time with him. The kids are sporting some hats that belonged to their great-great grandpa May.

Keaton was able to go through the temple for this first time at Rexburg Idaho Temple. My parents and 2 of my brothers were able to be there. Also, some of the cousins were able to do baptisms for the dead. It was an awesome day!

We attended church in Island Park, Idaho. Jeans are acceptable during the Summer and we went to sacrament meeting at 9:00pm.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July! This year our day started with a 14 mile run for Mike, Kenzie, and me (it was only supposed to be 12, but we miscalculated and took a wrong turn). We are still alive. Noah and Maddie decorated their bikes and rode in the 4th annual parade. We enjoyed a potluck breakfast with the neighborhood afterward. The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing and swimming. That night we put on our own firework show in the street in front of our house with some friends. We are so thankful for the country we live in and the freedoms we enjoy. God bless America!

Eat your heart out!

This is the best garden we have ever had! I have had such a great time "shopping" in my back yard this year. The other night I brought all this in the house. We had one of those nights where you can eat what you want and this is actually what Mike had for dinner. Although I don't enjoy eating many vegetables, I have enjoyed producing them for others. I am thinking that next year I will plant enough tomato plants to make some salsa. That would be a big deal for me.

A mouse in the house

2 weeks ago Keaton was watching t.v. and saw something out of the corner of his eye. That "something" ran behind the entertainment center and out the other side. Well, we were freaked out so we bought traps and poison. Fortunate for us, but sad for the little mouse he was caught soon after. We even bought some "plug ins" that emit a high pitched sound that mice can't stand so they leave the house. We haven't seen or heard them in the walls since. Hopefully, they really have left or this is their future fate.
